Our Story

Kappi Cup Cafe really started in Mysore.

​

 

During our yoga teacher training, there was a tiny coffee shop we kept running to between classes. It was simple — barely any food, no elaborate concept, just amazing coffee and one big communal table outside.

 

And around that table, strangers talked.

 

Not superficial chit-chat, but the kind of conversations that stay with you. People were discovering yoga, spirituality, travelling, questioning things and expanding their minds. You could arrive for a coffee and leave inspired by someone you had never met before.

 

We loved what happened around that table.

The idea of creating our own place started there.

​

 

Initially, we thought it would be in Varkala. Somehow, it wasn't. The plan kept changing and eventually brought us to Tapovan.

Finding the right place took months and dozens of viewings. Nothing felt quite right.

Until we found a field of dirt.

​

 

It was in exactly the right spot, surrounded by the yoga schools of Tapovan. There wasn't much to look at, but we knew immediately. It wasn't only the location — it was the owner, his energy, the conversations and the feeling that suddenly everything was coming together.

​

 

There were many moments along the way when we weren't sure which direction to take. Somehow, something would happen — a person would appear, a plan would fall apart, another door would open — and the way forward became obvious.

​

 

You can call it coincidence, intuition or the universe giving us a fairly persistent nudge.

We chose to listen.

​

 

And that field of dirt became Kappi Cup.
